Updated: May 21, 2021

Jody Karg

Jody Karg is well on her way to success. An SJ Levy Fellow and Phi Beta Kappa grad, Jody will join global agency R/F Binder as an Associate in July. This fall, she’ll also continue her studies at CCNY to earn her MPS in the acclaimed Branding + Integrated Communications (BIC) program.

Beyond achieving a 4.0 GPA, Jody interned at several PR agencies where she honed her professional skills. Starting as a Research Assistant for The Art Stevens Group, she later secured two highly competitive public relations internships, first at Derris PR, and then at RooneyPartners.

In 2019, Jody was elected to CCNY’s PRSSA chapter as vice president, planning and events which she organized and hosted.

Jody said, “Besides my desire to learn, I have the Ad PR community to thank for much of my growth. My professors, advisors, and classmates challenged me and always pushed me towards success. I am so excited to join RF|Binder and BIC. I know CCNY and Ad PR have prepared me for what’s next.”

“Jody has it all,” remarked Professor Lynn Appelbaum. “Her early success shows that she has a bright future ahead. Jody represents the best that the Ad PR program can offer. She has the talent to soar.”

Azka Pirzada

Azka Pirzada has a rare combination of intellectual strengths. A double major in Ad PR and Finance, Azka is an Associate Media Planner at GroupM’s MediaCom, a job she landed the job following her December 2019 semester.

As a team leader for her Ad PR Workshop client, CUNY’s BankingOnMyCareer website, Azka led team Blu Media in their campaign for CCNY’s Colin Powell School to host a series of professional panels that targeted Economics majors and career switchers. They won the coveted client pitch. Andy Rich, Dean of CCNY’s Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership, praised Azka’s “leadership and outstanding ability to always exceed expectations.”

Azka began as a Marketing Assistant for CCNY’s Biology Department and as Social Media Intern for the Simon H. Rifkind Center, promoting programs and events. She landed a Marketing Sales internship at Bookstr, a multimedia book-based company. But her summer 2019 national broadcast internship for GroupM’s MediaCom paved the way for her breakout job, a connection she solidified during an interview at Ad PR’s Building Bridges networking event.

Azka reflects: “CCNY is where I grew up. When I first arrived, I was completely lost. But, with the guidance of my professors and the wonderful experiences that shaped me, I found my path. That journey itself was everything I ever wanted."
