Beloved Colleague, Friend and Mentor, Lynn Appelbaum Retires

Lynn Appelbaum, beloved MCA Professor, retired from CCNY in January 2021

following 27 years on the Ad /PR faculty where she was Program Director from 2001-2016. She also played an integral role in the development of the Branding + Integrated Communications (BIC) Master of Professional Studies Program.

Lynn joined the MCA faculty in 1993 and is responsible for building the Ad/PR curriculum in addition to developing industry-wide connections leading to competitive internships and jobs for our students. She was the founding faculty member of CCNY's PRSSA chapter in 1996, serving as faculty advisor for 20 years. PRSA honored her with the Outstanding Educator Award in 2015.

A long-time champion of diversity, equity and inclusion, she has valiantly pushed for the change we see in today’s marketing communications industry, and we are thrilled that She continues to relish her connection with Ad PR students and alumni.
