Bryan Lezama and Stacy Fleurenssaint 2021 CCNY - IRTS Foundation Apprentices
The CCNY - IRTS Fellows for 2021 are Bryan Lezama, Day One Agency Apprentice and Stacy Fleurenssaint, Mindshare Media Planning Intern!
The highly competitive IRTS Summer Fellowship Program has played a key role in launching the careers of top media professionals for 50 years. The Summer Fellowship is IRTS Foundation’s cornerstone initiative, integral to our mission of providing access and education to diverse, aspiring young media professionals from across the country.
Numerous CCNY Ad/PR Students have been selected for this fellowship over the years and current students are encouraged to apply. Throughout the 9-week program, apprentices receive insights from top industry executives, mid-level managers at some of our industry’s most dynamic companies, and media professionals only a few years removed from Fellows’ current experiences.
Once their apprenticeship rotations are complete, fellows are considered for full time positions at their host employers. Ad/PR majors are encouraged to secure internships, apprenticeships, for academic credit experiences, volunteer experiences and freelance assignments to boost their standing as the compete for coveted communications positions.
Each Fellow completes an internship or project in tandem with the IRTS Fellowship, and will receive 1-on-1 professional development opportunities with the IRTS Team.
Most importantly, 2021 Fellows will have unparalleled access to the IRTS Network, an incredibly supportive community of peers spanning more than five decades of Summer Fellowship alumni. Needless to say, former IRTS fellows hold senior leadership positions in the International Radio & Television Society space, which has morphed to include digital and virtually every aspect of contemporary communications. Many former IRTS Fellows pay it forward by hiring young people to intern at their agencies.
This year, the Fellowship continues in a virtual format in order to allow students to participate in the opportunity, despite the pandemic.
Coincidentally, both Lezama and Fleurenssaint are concluding their undergraduate studies as part of INtouch Media, a student team (Ad/PR Workshop capstone course). Their “Fight for the Flagship” campaign aims to increase funding and clinical support for CCNY’s Student Health Services, Division of Student Affairs. They are excited to expand their relationship from academic colleagues to IRTS communications associates contributing to Day One and Mindshare.
