PRSSA had an incredible academic year, hosting multiple events throughout Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters. Along with professional development experiences, the club prioritized the well-being of members, maintaining monthly check-ins via Zoom.
In September, the student club hosted a special event with CCNY Ad/PR Alumnus Troy Blackwell Jr. as he held a key role in the 2020 Presidential Campaign first with Madam Vice President Kamala Harris in the primaries, and then working on the Biden/Harris Campaign.
Currently a candidate for for New York City Council (District 15 - Bronx), Troy provided a keynote presentation at San Diego State University’s Broom Center in March, encouraging communications strategists to Use Your Voice. Always one to pay it forward, in lieu of an honorarium, SDSU funded 5 complimentary PRSSA memberships for undergraduate scholars.
