Faculty Moves


Professor Kent Oswald accepted to the CUNY Grad Center to complete his Master’s Degree.








Professor Javier Garcia was just awarded the 2021 Alumni Service Award by the CCNY Alumni Association for his tireless contributions as a member of the Communications Alumni Group Board of Directors. Effective July 1, Garcia will serve as upcoming CAG President. He is a proud graduate of MCA’s Ad/PR (BA) and Branding + Integrated Communications programs (MPS).


Last summer, Professor Rebecca Rivera founded Save The Internships and kicked down doors for dozens of talented students and recent grads. This summer, she’s continuing to work on students’ behalf as the Curriculum Advisor for the GROWTH Initiative (Giving Real Opportunity with Talent and Heart). Participants in this 10-week virtual agency internship partner with real non-profit clients to produce actual work. The initiative also includes two weeks of professional training and development with industry recruiters who mentor participants and help them land internship and job interviews. The GROWTH Initiative is offered by 100 Roses From Concrete, a network for people of color in the advertising, marketing, media, and public relations industries. She is a proud graduate of MCA’s Branding + Integrated Communications Program (MPS).


Professor Lynne Scott Jackson received the President’s Award from PRSA-NY, where she served as former Board of Directors member and staunch mentee of young professionals. The award was extra special in that it was presented by Kellie Jelencovich, Ad/PR alumnus and former President of CCNY PRSSA and PRSA-NY! Scott Jacksonis a proud graduate of CCNY’s International Relations Program (MA), Colin Powell School for Civic & Global Leadership.


Professor Yoni Weiss joins with JPMorgan Chase & Co. as a Graphic Designer as part of their corporate communications program on their digital signage team.

He is a proud graduate of CCNY’s Electronic Design & Multimedia Program (BFA).
